ABOUT US
Alternative Protein Africa (APA) is a project of One Health and Development Initiative (OHDI), established as a resource hub and platform that is promoting knowledge, information, advocacy, research, innovations and movement building for the growth and advancement of the alternative protein sector in Africa. We support the transitioning of food systems, lifestyle choices and economies that are healthy, sustainable, and improve One Health in African countries and communities.

02
Collate and provide globally-relevant information on growth, trends, research and innovation that would drive interest, movement building and investments into the alternative protein sector in Africa.
03
Promote, advocate and support people through transitioning to food diets that support the adoption of alternatives to animal proteins.
04
Enhance local innovations in vegan food and supplies from local and globally-adapted resources in Africa
05
Support the commercialization, proliferation and growth of businesses, social enterprise and start-ups in the alternative protein sector and foster connection of such African businesses to local and global investments and opportunities.
